Today we went to a beach in Monopoli that is located on the Adriatic Sea. It was about a 40 minute ride through winding roads. Once we got there, we realized how windy it was. The waves were huge and the water was quite warm. We found a small cove to set up our towels. We stayed about three hours and it was a beautiful day.
After the beach, we drove back to our place to take showers and get ready for our dance lessons. It was a 40 minute ride to Ostuni. Once again, Bill was the teachers pet and wowed everyone with his dance moves. We learned the basic steps of the folklore dance of Salento “Pizzica Pizzica” (Taranta).
We met some lovely people in the class. The teacher is in the red. The other couple was from San Diego and were on their honeymoon. The other woman was from Jordan. They served us a delicious bowl of homemade pasta afterwards.
To finish off the night, we stopped for gelato, ciccolato and noce di cocco.
Tomorrow is our 3 hour bike ride and then we will head to Lecce.
